Barbera d'Asti
La Tota, which in Piedmontese
dialect means ‘signorina’, is a deep
ruby red Barbera with an intense fruity bouquet
with notes of prune
and vanilla from the oak.
It has a soft, well-structured taste with good
balance between the
hints of spices, wood-vanilla and mature red fruit.
After a stay in oak and stainless steel of at
least one full year, La Tota
is bottled and left to finish in a controlled-temperature
ambience for
several months before it is put on the market.
Although this is a wine often enjoyed while
young, it continues to evolve in the bottle and
is still well within in its prime after 5-6 years
of aging.
It is particularly recommended as an accompaniment
to first courses, both red & white meats and
medium-aged cheeses.
